My goal as a music teacher is to nurture the love of music. I hope to teach my students skills that will benefit them throughout their lives. This can be achieved with a structured and comprehensive music education. By incorporating ear training, sight reading, technique, theory, and improvisation into each lesson the students start building a solid musical foundation right from the beginning stages.
I have over 20 years of experience teaching students from beginners to advanced levels. Through careful planning, I provide a clear structure for both the private instruction and the practice assignments at home. I encourage my students to be exposed to a great variety of repertoire in different styles and genres. By taking advantage of technology on a regular basis, I help my students reach their full potential while having fun. This could include learning note names with the help of an iPad game, polishing rhythms skills by tapping rhythms on an iPad screen, or creating a slow motion video of their hands while working on a technical concept.
Together with the student and parents, I establish clear goals for each child depending on their level and interests. These yearly goals could include preparing for festivals, exams, and competitions, or mainly sharing the music in our regular studio recitals and events. Through my extensive studies in piano pedagogy both in Europe and North America, I have been exposed to a great variety of different teaching methods. This wide knowledge and experience enables me to plan an individual approach for each student of any age or level.
